I have been working with John for nearly two years in correcting my midrange myopia with the Ortho C lens in the same fashion as he does with children. I am fortunate enough to not have as many interfering factors as most adults with myopia that make this treatment warranted and successful for me.

When we first started, my vision was -2.50 D. At my most recent vision exam, I tested at -1.25 D. I am personally amazed by this. I am able to function normally without glasses except when driving, a feat I would never have thought possible in the 35 years I have needed corrective lenses.
Noteworthy is John’s dedication and passion for the development of his process. He never asked me for payment. I had to insist that he accept compensation for his time and attention to my treatment, (and also the actual lenses he had specially made and shipped internationally to the States several times), given I had intended to spend far more on LASIK surgery.

After only a few months, thanks to Mr. Yee and his lenses, my vision was 20/20. Most optometrists in the United States would believe my results to be impossible. Their unwillingness to consider alternative therapies is surprising, if not downright damaging to patients.

The American Optometric Association (AOA) code of ethics states that a practitioner is obliged to put a patient’s welfare above his personal gain and to continually broaden his knowledge of any therapies which might benefit his patient’s vision. My own experience with eye care practitioners convinces me that this is frequently not the case.
At the time I began Mr. Yee’s therapy, I was told by a local optometrist that anyone who said that I could improve my vision at my age (57) was lying. Fortunately, I didn’t listen to that advice. As it turns out, my eyesight got better in spite of optometrists, not because of them.

Recently, I went to get my driver’s license renewed and asked to take the vision test to see if I could get the restriction removed. I was quite pleased that I passed. I could see all the way down to the 20/20 line. Mr. Yee’s method helped me pass the vision exam.

When I first put them on, I was rather amazed that I could see so well because these were plain and not prescription lenses. The optometrist explained that what was probably happening was that my astigmatism was being “masked.” Apparently, fluid in the eye fills the gap between the eye and the lens and so improves one’s ability to see. But there has to be more to it than that.

When I took the lenses off after a few minutes, my vision had changed and I could see better. I was staggered at the result and drove home for the first time in more than a decade without any glasses or lenses. My vision was so poor beforehand that I struggled to see line 2 on the eye chart. Now I can see line 7, and I am able to drive during the day without lenses of any kind. This is a huge improvement in my vision.

I was concerned about my vision eventually affecting my work as an airline pilot. Being part of the flight crew, I am subjected to a stringent yearly medical test which includes a series of eye examinations to maintain my licence and keep working. I was told by several ophthalmologists and optometrists, there was no way of halting the progression of myopia. I was also told that eventually, I will require glasses, contact lenses, or laser surgery to keep flying.

The news did not resonate well with me as any reliance on any of these options presented extra inherent risks and limitations in the flight deck.

After several months working with John and seeing a significant improvement in my results after performing the prescribed drills, I recently completed an eye test as part of my aviation medical. I could read the last line on the chart with no problems. In Australia, the eye sight requirements for a pilot are more restrictive than a police officer, except if you are a police pilot, they are the same.

I am very grateful to John for his help and excited to see what else is possible for me in a field that says, there is nothing else. John is professional in his approach and committed to my progress as a patient, as demonstrated by our endless consultations at no extra cost.

My daughter had been prescribed -7.25 D glasses by her ophthalmologist. I believe she was being over-corrected. She began Ortho C by wearing -4.75 D glasses which enabled her to read line 6. Now she can read line 7 (the 20/25 line) with -1.75 D glasses, so she has come a long way in her vision improvement journey.

I think my daughter has been a difficult case as her myopia began during her development, and she wore RGP contact lenses. We are very grateful to John and his ethical approach. I wish I had known this information sooner.

My daughter had hyperopia and astigmatism, and her vision was getting worse over time. By the time she was 5, her prescription was +2.00 -1.50 x 175 in both eyes. That was when John started treating her with a single procedure. We visit him every 4 months on average for the next 5 years at no extra cost. I did not feel comfortable inserting the lens for her.
Due to covid, we did not see John for 12 months. Even without further training her eyes, she was still able to see better than 20/20. She could see line 9 on a cloudy day in his office. (Line 8 is the 20/20 line.)
